What do Shaun Prater, Jack Swanson, DeMarco Paine, and Jason Ford all have in common? They all run a 40 in 4.5 or less, and they are all Hawkeyes. They also all committed to Iowa within the last week.
It seems that this time around, for the 2008 recruiting class, Ferentz and co. are going for some speed in both the secondary and in the offensive backfield. Iowa has started to become a little "slower" than its BigTen counterparts, but that all seems to be changing, for the 2008 class at least.
Not only is Iowa raking in speed, but they are raking in talent. The 6 committs thus far for Iowa are not only good for top half in the BigTen in regards for total number of commits, but also are extremely talented players.
The stars may not show up on some of the bigger recruiting websites, but you better bet your bottom dollar that in terms of speed, talent, and ability to mesh with the team, the 2008 recruiting class is going to turn out to be one spectacular class.
