What's everybody doing? My girlfriend and I are kind of playing it low key, we're just going out for Chinese food, and are probably going to exchange some sort of giftage.

Godfather's pizza carry-out (delivery was 1.5 hours, yikes). Flowers from Hy-Vee, cards from Hayden & I.

I hear that Jemery is giving his wife a pearl necklace...:p

Supposed to be watching Hawkeye Hoops,

Hey that wasn't funny... my fiance actually "did" recieve a pearl necklace from her father!! :o "A REAL PEARL NECKLACE"

I have taken her out the past two years, having proposed last Valentines Day. This year a couple weeks back she told me she wanted to do some things for me this Valentines day and not to make any plans. (needless to say I took her for her word and didn't even get her flowers!) I fixed that snaffoo when I spent $129.30 for 12 Red long stem roses in a vase with "frickin" baby's breath... oh and they offered a balloon at no cost :) how nice of them! ;) Anyway she's gonna make me dinner when she gets home "anyminute now"

Then were going to go see a movie of her choice tonight...then we'll come home and make a movie... of my choice

We save a fortune on flowers. Valentines Day is also our anniversary, so we only have to pay the florist once a year!

I did the most romantic thing of all. I watched UFC, something about the color red on valentines day.

We don't do the whole Valentines thing (flowers, cards, chocolates, balloons, jewelry)
believe it to be a waste of money, think it was a holiday that the greeting card company made up.

I also don't celebrate secretary week/day, or any history month (until white males get one). But I do celebrate St. Patricks Day (just someting about green beer).

Just my point of view on the commercialization of religious holidays:

Jesus Christ was born a Jolly Fat Man who likes to have small kids sit on his lap, then goes around giving away presents (that we as parents get no credit for).

Jesus Christ comes back as a Rabbit who gives out Eggs with candy inside (where does that come from)?

I was watching MMA on Showtime the other night, there were some nice matches and I got to see the girls go at it, I guess it was the first time "showtime" has ever had women televised performing MMA. One of the chicks was from Indiana, kinda tanya harding looking if you know what I mean... the other chick was drop dead gorgeous! Her father was a qb for the Cowboys for a short time back in the day, and she pummeled the other chick. Had her on her back for half the match, at one point she started to get up only to land a solid Right fist directly to the girls jaw... her head pitter pattered against the matt like a speed bag getting wacked. If you get a chance to watch this don't miss out... I'm sorry I can't remember her name but I know she's now 4-0 and her last name is Hispanic I think.

Well, last night, we decided to test our luck at Noah's Ark (the first pizza place in Iowa, for those of you who don't know). I figured, "Nobody will go to a pizza place on Valentine's day at 8:00. Well, I could not have been more wrong. I called them, and they told me the first open spot would be at 9:00. Since we were going to be in Des Moines anyway, we decided to go to our favorite Chinese place on the south side. We got there, it was 50 degrees in the building because their heat was broken, and we waited at the front desk for 10 minutes, and didn't get any help.

So, we went to Aplebee's, and drove back to Ames, and just watched a couple episodes of Law and Order CI, one of which I hadn't seen before (first episode of the newest season), and she got to watch an episode of Law and Order SVU, which she hadn't seen before. See, we're both nerds :D
