Claims Big Ten not built for Speed.

I only saw where he said that he had to get used to the speed of major college football, I didn't see where he knocked the Big Ten. He implied that because he was learning at the same time he was playing that he himself was slower because the game was faster than his grasp of the defense.

Not that I would disagree that the Big Ten is not one of the fastest conferences, it's more about power and balance than speed. It always has been.

I agree with Sal. I really don't see where he's taking shots at the Big Ten for not having speed. Yeah, he says that Missouri and USC were the two fastest teams that the Illini played, but I can't dispute him on that. Missouri and USC are fast teams -- probably faster overall than just about any team in the Big Ten. And, for what it's worth, I pretty much can't stand either Missouri or USC, but I don't have a problem with anyone speaking the truth.

He seemed, at least to me, to indicate the teams were much faster in the non-conference portions of the season.
