Young signed as a free agent with the Vikings. The Vikqueens keep getting former Hawkeye players, how can I make fun of them now.

I'm calling it now. Minnesota officially has a RB controversy! :D

I think he could actually stick there. To my knowledge, they've got Petersen, Taylor, and Marucie Hicks, who is technically a running back but when he was in San Fransico he only served as a retun man. So i'd say Young could fall in there somewhere.

I agree, he could easily latch on as the 3rd back. Just won't be the seeing the field anytime soon

I think in time a team will see the potential that albert has and the good upside he has.

since he's so good at receiving, maybe they might use him as a hybrid back? it be cool to see him in the backfield with AP, both serving as offensive threats...even though I'm a Bears fan.

Why not? The Raiders now have five RBs and further proof that Al Davis is an idiot.

Agree that he would be ideal as a 3rd down back - good at picking up a blitz, and great hands out of the backfield. And such an excellent, team-first, character guy:)

Best wishes to AY.

Sounds like Albert got to play a little on Friday. Not a Viking fan, but would love to see Albert make the final cut.

He played almost the entire 2nd half, definitely got a lot of reps and little short dumpoff passes thrown his way...it was fun to see him play so well

I've seen 2 of Minnesota's preseason games and he looks pretty good. They have also been using him as a kick returner. I'm pretty sure he had a special teams tackle as well. He looks like he could be playing himself into a roster spot.

From all reports up here, he will probably be practice squad at best as they have three backs ahead of home, Adrian Peterson, Chester Taylor, Maurice Hicks.

I saw him play one game this year. Albert looks bigger in a Viking uniform. Hope he makes the squad.

Probably because he was carrying Adrian Peterson's and Chester Taylor's pads and helmets to and from every training camp practice.:proud:

Though he has put on quite a bit of muscle, though not quite as much as Chad Greenway has. Greenway is a monster now!!

Albert was cut earlier in the week but has now signed onto Minnesota's practice squad.

All it takes is an injury to one of the other backs and that happens quite frequently. The coaches really like AY and see good things from him in the future as a Viking.
